Double Glazed Office Glass Partition Installation – Team Valley, Gateshead

The installation consisted of a full height double glazed office glass partition system, complete with a frameless glass door in a door frame, designed to create a separate board room while retaining a light, open feel throughout the space.

Located on the popular Team Valley Trading Estate in Gateshead, the project required a professional finish that would suit a high quality commercial setting without feeling intrusive or closed off.

Acoustic Performance Using Mixed Glass Thicknesses

A key requirement for this project was reducing noise transfer between rooms. To achieve improved sound insulation, the partition was specified using a combination of 10mm and 12mm toughened glass.

By mixing different glass thicknesses, sound vibrations are disrupted rather than passing directly through matching panes. This reduces resonance and helps deliver a better overall dB rating compared to using identical glass throughout the system, a proven method supported by acoustic test data.
